IMPORTANT CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

first burn

Candle Care 101

When you first burn your new Candle, make sure to burn it until the molten wax pool reaches the edge of the container, this may take upto 2-3 hours depending on the size of the Candle.

This will ensure your candle will always burn evenly and avoids wax forming a tunnel in the centre.

Avoid exposure to drafts or strong breezes.

Always, always trim your wick/s to 4mm before you light your candle.

This ensures minimal or sooting and an even burning flame without the wick 'mushroom' and smoking.

If you haven't trimmed your wick, the sides of the container may discolour with black soot.

Whilst the candle is unlit, use a slightly damp paper towel/tissue to wipe the sides clean to look like new again.

Always place candle on a stable surface. Container may become quite hot. Never place a lit candle near curtains or where debris may blow into the candle as it may start a fire.

Preferably use the Candle Lid to extinguish the flames as blowing onto wicks can leave sunken into solidified wax!

important  safety

Important Safety precautions:

Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, hazard or injury.

Never move a lit candle or leave a candle unattended especially near children or pets.

Always place candle container on a heatproof surface like a marble, stone or ceramic coaster to protect the surface from heart damage. Never 'blow' onto candle flame as it may move the wick closer to the edge of the container, causing a 'hot spot' which could weaken the glass & then explode.  Always extinguish the flame with its lid if possible, the smoke smell will also remain inside the container!

Extinguish the flame when candle wax has less than 10mm remaining.

timberwick candle care

Important Safety precautions:

TimberWickTM real wood veneer wicks burn slightly different from the standard Cotton Wicks.

When you first burn your new TimberWick Candle, make sure to burn it until the molten wax pool reaches the edge of the container, this may take upto 2 hours.

On the next burn, you will notice a section of charred wick about 10-15mm. Gently remove this blackened section with either your fingertips or paddle pop stick. (Dead wood won't burn.) Repeat this process each time when the wax is cold. This will ensure your candle will always burn evenly and avoids wax forming a tunnel in the centre.
